Radio control toys have existed for years and so are always an awful lot of fun to play with. Yet RC Little Helicopters will likely be the greatest in soaring fun.

Cars and trucks dash about on the floor and produce for some great laughs, but a flying mini r / c control heli-copter is exciting and fun at the same time! Picture your small copter flying about over everyone’s head, dipping and swirling. The trouble for brand new Radio control mini helicopter buyers is lack of knowledge. Should you go on a buying spree without being properly knowledgeable your first copter accident is often an expensive accident.

Simulators

First thing you might like to think about is employing a chopper flight simulator if this will be your very first radio control experience. You will find simulators you can test in the comfort of your home computer that will let you know in a hurry if this activity is something you would love. At the same time, you are benefiting from much-needed flying knowledge and none of your accidents will cost you any money in fixes. Eventually you are going to fly your rc aircraft and a crash or perhaps two is unavoidable, nevertheless , you can certainly find out the very best places in order to fly and ability to reduce both occurrences and damages.

Chopper Power

Now that you have had some time to become familiar with the idea of RC mini helicopters and other flying devices you most likely want to look around. You should know that there are kinds of Radio control helicopters on the market with various energy options .

There are 3 main drive mechanism types , normal electric, nitro and turbine powered . Each of these needs some sort of different type of fuel and as you improve them, each one offer faster rates of speed with the turbine being the granddaddy of them all. You have to know that when you move from electric power to nitro then turbines you are moving up swiftly in cost . Some of the fancier turbine motors can cost a cool $5,000! Certainly not a purchase you want to take lightly or make when just beginning .

First Flight Protection

Once you think comfortable you know a bit about flying and now have bought your first standard Radio control little helicopter , (really should be electric for starters ) it’s time to think about a few preflight precautions . It is very easy to create your own installable safety landing gear. You only need a couple of dowel supports and tennis balls. These rods should be approximately four ft . long , based on the size of your first copter. Bore holes in each of the 4 tennis, or similar, balls about half way through. At this point position the balls on the ends of your four-foot dowel supports . Crisscross the supports then affix them to the rc mini chopper landing wheels . So if you crash you’ll limit the damage on your chopper .

And So…

There’s a lot of thought that enters into proudly owning and controlling an Radio control mini chopper . You ought to know a little bit about the several types of models , possess a little bit of expertise flying and be prepared to adopt safety measures to prevent a crash . Over time , you’ll learn more and more about the devices and exactly what makes them tick , but in the meantime get out and relish your life while you are terrorizing the neighbor’s kitty !

At some point in your childhood you will remember your first experience playing with radio control models. Admittedly I think more boys will remember this memory than girls but I think that’s expected. I remember going with my dad to the nearby park and driving this old electric remote control car for hours. It was so much fun trying to make it go as fast as possible then of course flipping it over and breaking it, but nevertheless a lot of fun! That day sparked my passion for RC cars and I have never looked back since.

In my opinion speed is everything! For people who are just starting I would recommend to go electric they have good top speeds and are very easy to maintain. You don’t need to spend loads of cash on cars to achieve good speed, I would recommend starting with an electric car which is easy to maintain and quick as well as also allowing you to build your knowledge.

For outright speed RC nitro cars is the only this to go for! They provide so much more speed than electric cars however there not easy to maintain. You’re going to need to maintain the air cleaners, glo-plugs etc for nitro cars because of their nitro engines. Nitro cars do work much more like your car at home than electric cars which does have its benefits. Nitro engines have clutches and do take time to spool up. As a result you also get the benefit of the car actually sounding like a normal car not a toy! They can be driven for longer periods and only take a few seconds to be refuelled. The amount of time and the knowledge needed will scare people however I personally could never go back to electric. Although if you do feel you can put in the time to maintain these cars I don’t think you will regret it, the speed and the amount of fun to be had driving them is second to none!
