If you’re too busy to spend a lot of time on Halloween craft projects with your family but you’d like to do some kind of activity together, you’re in luck. The Internet is full of free Halloween images that can be used to make easy craft projects. As an example, craft projects made from vintage Halloween greeting cards found online make projects simple, due to the fact that vintage images are both versatile and very effective at conveying a Halloween feel. There’s something for everyone, because vintage Halloween images range from sweet to gory to scary. Vintage images can also be downloaded and used without fear of copyright problems. That’s a terrific bonus, because you don’t have to worry about using other people’s art illegally.

Just a simple Internet search using the search term “vintage Halloween” will give you a huge number of free vintage images from which many craft projects can be made. And, of course, if you don’t like vintage, contemporary Halloween clip art can also produce great craft projects.

Here are examples of two Halloween projects nearly anyone can make by using free art found online:

Handmade Halloween Greeting Cards
When you’ve downloaded the Halloween image you’d like to use, paste it into a Word, PowerPoint or OneNote document. You can make the card virtually whatever size you want by adjusting the software’s settings. Place the image on one half of the card, so it can be folded in half after it’s printed. Print the card on card stock as heavy as your printer will allow, fold it and use a little glitter glue to make it sparkle. You might also want to make your own envelopes or just buy two-for-a-dollar card and envelope sets at the dollar store and then recycle the cards.

Spooky Halloween Wreath Decoration
Making a Halloween wreath is simple. Here are the supplies you’ll need:

1 plain Styrofoam wreath ring (you choose the size)

These vintage images or vintage Halloween cards of your choice (between 2 and 4 inches long), printed and cut along the outlines

Free Halloween scrapbook paper (optional)

Scissors

Short straight pins

Ribbon or a metal or plastic door-hanger

Download images you like to your computer. Then, print enough clipart images so they can be spread around the entire wreath and cut them out with scissors or a craft knife. You can also vary the look by using Halloween scrapbook paper cut into bat or leaf shapes. Once you’ve cut all the components, stick them to the Styrofoam wreath with the straight pins. You might need to adjust the pieces a bit to find the right arrangement. The pins should make it easy to reposition everything. (Just make sure small children don’t get their hands on the straight pins!) When your wreath is done, use a ribbon or door hanger to hang it.

I hope you have a great time making these Halloween craft projects and that you have a fun holiday!

Deciding to use Halloween clip-art can give business messages and craft projects visual impact beyond what you might expect. Using it is a good idea for people who are not artistic but still want to have more professional-looking Halloween cards, invitations, scrapbooks and personal web pages. Anyone can use Halloween clip art but it’s been my experience that people who create scrapbooks have even more uses for it, because they often use it to create digital and printable Halloween scrapbook layouts. They may have started with standard Halloween clip art but what they ended up with is something else entirely. There are also those who use clip-art images to create their own scary Halloween masks. They either find clip art images they can use to piece together to make masks or they download free masks available online. That means virtually anyone can make a fun Halloween mask with no expense.

There are so many great images for Halloween, such as pumpkins, witches, bats and skeletons. Text greetings and Halloween messages framed by scary borders also come under the heading of Halloween clip art. Additionally, you can find an excellent selection of humorous Halloween images. These include cute animated cartoons in Halloween themes. Some are even slightly bawdy, but that just adds to the fun of the holiday. There are a multitude of sites on the Internet where you can download Halloween clipart for use in word processing or graphics software. Many online galleries offer free clip art, however, you may want to subscribe to a website that offers a larger selection. To avoid browsing through the images one by one, it’s important to use the site’s internal search engine.

Some people even have their own personal Halloween clip art collections they use to dress up Halloween greetings, personal websites and a variety of print projects. Having the art on hand saves time, which helps a lot during the time right before Halloween when everyone is so busy getting costumes together. And because “All Hallow’s Eve” is a yearly event, having a cache of Halloween clipart will save time both now and in the future. Here are a few tips that may help you get the most benefit from the images: Size and color are key when using Halloweenclip art images as backgrounds, to avoid the text from being obscured by blending into the background. In addition, it’s important to stick to a central style and theme so the final product doesn’t look cluttered and busy. These simple rules will give you good results.
