But you can’t just launch any RC aircraft in to the sky. The changing climate conditions don’t yet suit some of people types we love to send into the blue, though here in Indiana the forecast for some coming days steer my thoughts to flying fun.
Are you ready for remote command boating fun?
It’s spring, along with the rains are filling the streams, ponds, and lakes back to their summer aquatic levels. In some places even puddles grow big adequate to float an RC boat – a minimum of the smaller ones.
The weather person this morning predicted record setting temperatures from the next few days. But does that mean I can take to the runways and launching pads with any air traveling craft I like flying?
- Sailing yachts – for those quiet cruises, and the lack of fumes.
- Racing boats – from cigar designs to hydroplanes to high-speed boats to mosquito craft.
- Hovercraft – amphibious designs that float above water or land.
- Military vessels – stage a battle at sea, or patrol our shores having a coast guard model.
- Ski-Dos – perform aqua-batics.
- Cabin cruisers – live aboard types that navigate the great seas.
- Working vessels – like a tugboat to steer barges around the harbor, police boats to keep law and order around the water, and fire fighting boats for waterfront emergencies.
- Submarines – explore the ocean depths.
No matter what your aquatic desires draw you toward, there’s a boat waiting just for you.
Do you prefer a leisurely sail, where the only noise is the slapping of the canvas as the wind whips the sails…cracking them to draw the boat forward on its course? Take a dinner cruise along a scenic shore. Breathe the fresh air, untainted by any engine’s exhaust fumes.
Spring weather changes so speedily that you should test the air prior to you light that radio regulate engine up.
When the air is calm any design flies with no problem.
Blimps certainly require very calm days, and also then most are suited a lot more for indoor operation than outdoor. Doesn’t carry much to knock a single of those helium balloons off course, or cause them to defy your flight command attempts.
The bigger remote handle airplanes and jets work okay in winds up to moderate speeds, and provide some great opportunities for getting an early spring start at heading to the clouds.
Get your fellow RC boating enthusiasts together for an afternoon of fun. Build diverse races for that a variety of hull, and power classifications. Hold sprint racing for your high-speed boats. Schedule a sailing regatta with the sailboats.
